File Properties Dialogue - Update & Next/Previous arrows
Not sure if this is a bug. The Next/Previous arrows work ok as long as you don't edit anything. However, If i edit any info in the Properties Dialogue then select the Update & Next Song arrow it will skip the next song and select a track (apparently at random) in the album. Sometimes it will skip to a track in a totally different album. Obviously this is very frustating when you want to edit sequential tracks

Re: File Properties Dialogue - Update & Next/Previous arrows
It will go to whatever track is next in the track list, which is not necessarily the next track in the album depending on the contents of the track list you're looking at.
It works fine on my end.

The Filelist is the list of files from where you selected one file to edit the Properties. You should include more details like View and MediaMonkey version used.

Re: File Properties Dialogue - Update & Next/Previous arrows
I'm using Album Art with details view & version is MM4 (i've noticed the same behaviour in MM3 also)
Collection = Music
Node = Artist
I select one artist & it brings up say, 2 albums in Art & Details view. I select the first track from album 1 then open File Properties & edit the title info. Then i use the Update & Next Song arrow & instead of taking me to track 2 on the first album it takes me to track 3 or the last track on the album or sometimes to a track on the second album.
The thing is it's quite random & unpredictable. Sometimes it will function as i'd expect ie always select the next consecutive track in the album.

I can't reproduce on 4.1.0.1630 beta (I think that a bug was reported and it may have been fixed). If you can reproduce on MediaMonkey 4.1 (currently in Beta Forum) you should capture it a debug log and send it to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=1&t=341

Re: File Properties Dialogue - Update & Next/Previous arrows
I realize this is an old thread, but the problem matches fairly closely what I am seeing. It only seems to happen with Art & Details view, the Details view works as expected. I can navigate to pretty much any album, e.g. by Music > Albums > select album. Then the main window lists the tracks of the album (and the art) in order by track number. Select the first track, Right click > Properties. If you just hit the Update & Next Song button, you may advance through the tracks as expected, or they may be selected in some other order. If you close MMW and then re-open it, it will return to the same track window as expected, and the Update & Next Song button will always select the tracks in order. If you repeat this process, but let's say on Track 3 you edit a field (e.g. you add a word to the Copyright field), then hit Update & Next Song, you are very unlikely to select Track 4 next. I have tried this on several albums and they all exhibit this behavior, so I am positive this is a bug, and I think it has been in MMW for a while. I am running MMW Gold 4.1.8.1751 on Windows 7 HP.

What do you have the Art & Details View sorted on?

Re: File Properties Dialogue - Update & Next/Previous arrows
If I click on the Album node, I normally sort on the Summary field, and the tracks for each album are shown in order in the main window, but Update&Next gives the random selection described above (if using Art & Details). My understanding is that I can explicitly select secondary, tertiary, etc. columns to sort on by holding Ctrl and clicking other column headers. If I click <Summary header>, Ctrl-<Track # header>, the displayed track order is unchanged (still correct) and the random selection behavior is still there with Update&Next.
If I select one album to view in the main window and then sort on Track Number, the Update&Next selection order seems to behave properly.
To avoid user confusion, I think Update&Next needs to proceed to whatever the next track currently displayed in the main window listing is, regardless of how the sort is specified to arrive at that listing. For example, if I request to sort on Summary (which is identical for every track on the same album, so the sort is ambiguous), Mediamonkey nicely decided on it's own to display the tracks in order. It makes no sense for Update&Next to resolve this ambiguity differently, i.e. they should never disagree.
However, it's certainly possible that I don't really understand how to operate the multi-column sort feature, but that doesn't change my argument above.

Great to hear that you are working on the problem!
I found a bug in one of my scripts tonight which I will pass along, at the risk of telling you something you already know:
SQL queries using the clause "ORDER BY DiscNumber, TrackNumber" are unreliable, since these are text fields.
The correct phrase is "ORDER BY CAST(DiscNumber AS INT), CAST(TrackNumber AS INT)"
Keep up the good work!
