iPod Touch Sync issues

Hey guys,
Running the latest MM Beta version and wanted to try syncing a playlist to my last gen ipod Touch. It goes through the whole process but nothing shows up under "songs" on the ipod but the space is still taken up on it??

My iTunes software as well as the ipod software are up to date as well. This exact process worked a month or so ago but I have since added a album to my playlist.

any suggestions? Oh, and I convert everything to ALAC while syncing to the ipod.

Ok, so i found part of the problem. I had been using the conversion feature to change incompatible files to ALAC. (Most of my library is FLAC, so the though was to keep my files lossless). anyway, when I switch the conversion to use MP3, it works! I have purchased the codec pack which includes ALAC AAC etc. So why does this feature cause issues now....any suggestions??

It should not, I just tested with touch 4G to ALAC and AAC (for all others) and all converted ok.
