MediaMonkey unable to send music to Iphone

Dear MediaMonkey Team, I need your help!

The current problem I am having is that when I send music on MediaMonkey to my Iphone, it will send but my iphone will not read the music and thus it does not appear on the iphone for me to play. Oddly, the music will appear on MM as having been sent to the Iphone and I can click on the scanned Iphone, when connected, and see that it is 'in' the phone yet when I click to play it - it cannot, saying 'missing codec'. This does not happen for music that was already on the phone from been previously sent so clearly a new issue. When I try to get the codec it does not solve the problem. Itunes will also recognise that my iphone has music I have added yet cannot play it off the Iphone. Four months ago, none of this was an issue and I could send any music or transfer it.

I have an Iphone 4S, 8.4.1 version and using the Media Monkey 4.1.8.1751 and the most recent Itunes software.

I really appreciate any help or ideas as to how to solve this, thank you!

I too have had this problem with an iPhone 5S iOS 8.4.1, iTunes 12.2.2.25, and MM 4.1.8.1751

In another thread on this board there are various suggestions.

What worked for me is the following...

Backup the phone using iTunes just in case you run into problems, then reset the phone using the Settings/General/Reset and the selection called Reset All Settings. This resets a lot of things on the phone but it keeps your data.

At this point other posters said they could get MM to copy songs to their phone, but in my case I had the same problem as before - MM says it is copying over files in the MM status bar, but in fact no songs are copied into the phone.

What I did next was to shutdown MM and start iTunes. Then I synced the phone to one song that I have in my very small iTunes library. It does not matter what song I chose. I confirmed that iTunes was able to copy one song file to the phone.

Then I shutdown iTunes and restarted MM. Now I have no problems - MM can successfully copy song files, playlists, and sync with the phone.

Many many thanks to both of you for your replies. I was able to fix the issue using the new beta version of Media Monkey but also found the second method helpful prior to this. Great to see the community is so helpful!

Hi everyone - I'm having this issue after updating from Windows 7 to Windows 10. MM does not copy music to my iPhone4 anymore and I can`t remove songs from my iPhone with MM either ("remove" is greyed out"). When adding music, MM says so in the status bar but the tracks never show up on the iPhone.

Does anyone know if this could be caused by the Win10 update? I did not change anything in MM's (or iTunes) settings and never had any problems adding/removing songs.
Apart from this, MM has worked like it should with Win10 so far

Which version of MediaMonkey, iOS and iTunes? Can iTunes still remove files?

iTunes: 12.03.0.44

iTunes removes and adds files. But I really do not want to use iTunes. I haven't used it for ages and this test showed me why. After adding one file, all music files on my iPhone exept for said file were duplicated - what happened? - but show up only once in MM or iTunes. And most of these duplicates are dead tracks. Looks like I need to delete my whole music library Hope I can rebuild my library with MM again.

Update: Music library was totally messed up (duplicates) and I had to remove all tracks with iTunes. Then reinstalled MM 4.1.9.1764 - no change. I still cannot add music to my iPhone.

MM says "copying" in the status bar, the iPhone's sync icon (sometimes) flashes for a second but nothing more happens. No music on the iPhone while MM shows the copied files. But when I click them, they turn grey and disappear. Weird.

I also tried MM 4.1.9.1761 - no change.

Any ideas? Thank you very much!

BTW: I could add tracks with "Waltr."

Since Win10 was a rather underwhelming experience, I downgraded to Win7 again - no change. The iPhone still won't accept any songs via MM and it's not possible to remove tracks even though MM recognizes the device. I'd never any problems with Win7 and MM before.
