MMA: v1.1.3.0499
MMW: v4.1.9.1764
Phone: HTC One M8 - Verizon
Android: 5.0.1
I left a rating in the android store and was asked to post here with what i am seeing. I know the top post said to test out the beta version first but i have not done so, this is the version currently avaiable on the app store. I have moved the app to SD card through the app manager.
MMA, with the new update, asked me to uninstall, restart and then reinstall. I did so but now i am seeing two things, playlist sync but not completely and selected artists do not sync correctly. For example, with the default Last 50 played, only 24 of them copied over. Another custom playlist that i have made is missing 5 songs. Doesn't seem to be any pattern to which ones were left out but seems to be weighted towards the top of the playlist. While under the sd card - Auto Sync(-->Device - Music - Artist, I have checked certain boxes for artists and these do not currently sync. Have tried selecting a bunch and removing them all, but with no luck.
Let me know if i can be of more help.
USB Syncing Issues to HTC One M8 SD Card

Re: Syncing Issues
Hi,
Can you confirm: whether you're doing a USB sync or Wi-Fi sync?
Also, if you look on your device in MMA in the folders node (assuming you have MMA pro), can you tell me the location(s) of the files?
Lastly, for the sake of debugging: can you run MMA off of internal storage?
Also, I just updated an article that summarizes all the possible Lollipop-related sync issues:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... e/View/237
Can you have a look and let me know if any of that helps resolve the problem in your case?
Thanks for taking the time to help debug this.

Re: Syncing Issues
Hi Rusty,
I was using USB sync.
I don't have MMA pro but using the trial shows that the library is under /storage/ext_sd/Music
I will switch to have MMA running from internal storage. Should i have the sync store files on internal storage as well?
I have yet to go through all of your link but will post back after i do so.

am i crazy, or do these options not exist? In the event that permissions are missing, they can be manually granted via the Options > Verify permissions function:
MediaMonkey automatically displays a dialog asking the user to grant write access to a folder on the SD card (if the user skips this, it's possible to restart this via Options > Grant access to external storage).
Re: Syncing Issues
You're not going crazy.
That functionality only appears if permissions haven't been granted (and I believe that it was removed for certain devices such as the HTC one M8 for which MMA's initial implementation of the Android 5 storage access framework failed).
Build 500 (see announcement at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 50#p416288 ), hopefully fixes the problem ( http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=12951 ).
Please give the build a try, and share your results here.
Thank you.

Re: USB Syncing Issues to HTC One M8 SD Card
To bring this thread up-to-date, there are 2 issues that have been resolved:
1) Permission issues affecting MMA's introduction of the new storage access framework used in Android 5+ . This primarily affects Wi-Fi sync operations, and is being tracked at bug http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=12918 and in this thread and is mostly resolved in MMA build 501.
2) Failure of MMW to recognize the SD card for USB synchronization. This is tracked at http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=12948 . This has been resolved in the newest MMW beta 4.1.10.1766 : http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 55#p416353
Can you confirm whether together these resolve the sync issues on the HTC One M8? Thanks.
