How is this done, i clicked send to but don't see the drive as an option, like my cell phone

Try activating the drive in mm under tools - options - external devices

The reason for not initially seen USB HDD as Portable device is due the fact that even connected as USB External HDD they can be added into MMW library like normal internal HDD.
