Mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10, version 1607. I reinstalled my backup which is prior to the update and it works fine. Did the windows update again this morning and MediaMonkey again has stopped working. Is there a fix for this??

Same here - MM 4.1.14.1811. I just restarted after the latest Win 10 update, now about 10-15 seconds after opening the program, it's 'not responding' and I can't do anything but close it.
Re: mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10,
What if you wait a few minutes?
I've found that on occasion running the unskinned exe from the MediaMonkey install folder fixes problems with the skinned version.

When you exit MM, check task manager to see if it's actually closing or that there isn't more than one instance running.

Re: mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10,
Thanks, tried running unskinned to no avail, and yes, was checking task manager to make sure it fully closed. Ended up just rolling back the Windows update, so it works great for now while Microsoft sorts out what seem to be a lot of issues with that rollout. Appreciate the help!

Same issue for me, but not related to a windows upgrade. I notice it says "scanning" next to a couple of drive locations at the top...
Re: mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10,
Hi,
I just wanted to report that I am experiancing the exact same issue with window 10 anniversary update. Media Monkey stops working after 10 to 15 seconds. I too have also tried running Media Monkey unskinned with no luck.
I downloaded the media monkey debug version but as it crashes too soon no debugging log appears to be available. In Event Viewer, I receive the following error message in the General Tab:
The program MediaMonkey (non-skinned).exe version 4.1.14.1811 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Re: mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10,
Hi. Just wanted to +1 this issue as well. MM build 4.1.14.1811 becomes unresponsive a few seconds after launching it. After receiving the latest Insider Build of Windows 10 Pro a couple of days ago, two media apps, MM and Handbrake, started freezing on startup. After removing all suspect new libraries, I gave up and reset to the previous Insider Build. But that wasn't of any help either. Today, I did a clean install of the Anniversary Build (14393), removing all traces of app files and databases along the way. Handbrake works okay, but MM still freezes.
If it may be of any help, Handbrake was ostensibly freezing due to an unhandled exception. The debug message text was: "An unhandled exception of type System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException' occurred in mscorlib.dll. Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation."
This is a link to Microsoft's discussion of the issue: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/828991
Thanks,
Rashad.

Re: mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10,
Same here.
The combination Annversary Update + newest MM doesn't work.
After the MM start it never stops showing the "hourglass/spinning circle".
I can't click on any entry in the library.
The latest working MM version for me is "MediaMonkey_4.1.14.1808.exe"

Re: mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10,
Always use Debug version of MMW and also try to install portable MMW to separate folder.
If nothing help please open support ticket where we can go and debug in more debug details that are not for public publishing.
I use Win 10 x64 on 3 PCs with anniversary update without any issues (Except WMA encoding which is already filed to Microsoft for investigation).

Re: mediamonkey stopped working after update to Windows 10,
It seems that build 1812 fixed the issue for most, but not all cases. Can you please try out the following and let us know if it resolves the problem for you?
The updated build 1813 is available at:
Standard build: http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/MediaMonk ... 4.1813.exe
Debug build: http://www.mediamonkey.com/sw/MediaMonk ... _Debug.exe
If it still fails, can send a debug log using the debug build? See details at: url=http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341
Thanks.
