I have been painfully working out all of the kinks with my F40. I'm currently on my fourth re-format and counting - I've had a couple of things go wrong with Gigabeat room, that have caused unrecoverable errors.
But I'm not here to complain about that. I have decided that I like using Gigabeat room to add music to the device, because the album art works right, which I like, even if it takes up more space. However, I would love to be able to use Media Monkey for when I make changes to songs, and to add playlists.
Playlists is my main concern; I use MusicMatch as my main source of music, which isn't compatible with Gigabeat, but I can export playlists to M3U files, which I could then import into Media Monkey and put on the device, except for one problem: every time I try to sync Media Monkey with the Gigabeat, it tries to sync a whole slew of songs, seemingly at random, and takes forever. Sometimes it will be 400, sometimes 3000, but either way, it recopies all of the songs and takes entirely too long. Even before this, to make it worse, it scans all the songs to check to see what needs to be done, which takes about 45 minutes with my 6500+ songs.
My question is: is there any way to make Media Monkey sync ONLY the playlists, without having to scan the whole device first. Some way to make it send the playlists to it without doing anything else? Anyone that could help me with matter would have my gratitude... Thanks.

Go to the menu tools > options and then to the portable devices tab. Here you can select your device and configure it. You can tell MediaMonkey to select playlists to sync and if this playlists should be added to the device as well.
Some users have reported that musicmatch doesn't play fair which can cause problems with other players (mostly with tags). Maybe you should consider moving to MediaMonkey completely if it serves all your needs.

No, I mean I already did that. I selected to only sync the playlists, but it's copying all the songs anyway. If I select just some songs and no playlists, it still does a whole lot of songs. I can't figure any rhyme or reason to it; it just randomly recopies a whole lot of songs every time I plug it in.
I've been addicted to MusicMatch for like 6 years, and I doubt I'll ever switch. I haven't had any problems worth speaking of, and I'm still not having MusicMatch problems with this situation - my playlists are being made fine, exporting fine, importing into MediaMonkey fine. It's just the syncing with the Gigabeat that's causing me trouble. Thanks, though...

So in the configuration screen for the device in the auto-synchronization list you have selected synchronize only the folowing and in that only a playlist?
If so you might want to create a debug log as described in the bug forum.

below your auto synchonisation list (in the options) there is a checkbox that asks you if you want to randomly fill your player till it's full. That might do the trick, it did in my case!!!
What i came here for is to ask how i can sync album art!!!! I have it all figured out but can't seem to get it on my player!!!! (Iriver H300, rockboxed).
Greetz air.
