MM just stopped working

Post by Datun Walnut »

Hi,
For no reason that I can see, MM (version 4.1.30.1914) has stopped working on my Windows 10 machine.
When I try to open it I get

Image

Strangely, MM.DB isn't in the Programs folder, it's in Appdata/roaming/mediamonkey
Things I've tried:
Putting a copy of it where it thinks it should be.
Replaced it with a known good back up of the data base.
I've also uninstalled MM, cleaned the registry and deleted any folder I could find, and reinstalled it
Rolled the PC back a week or so to before the erro - it still doesn't work.

Anybody any ideas? Thanks in advance

See: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... -are-lost/

You can do a Portable Install which avoids this altogether.

I've tried that but portable isn't very good for me, I lose all me setting and have to install and find my music everytime.
I don't think cleaners are the problem as I didn't use one between installing and running, so i don't think it could cause it. The registry is correct as per the link.
I can't listen to any music without it so I'm getting a bit desparate.

I don't follow why you think those problems exist with a Portable Install. You can use you existing database.

You could try to force through DBName in the ini to use a specific database file: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... ini-files/
