Being able to play mp3s/wmas etc from Creative Zen Vision:M

Post by DrStamen »

Don't know if this should come under synchronisation, but if I could play files from my Creative Zen Vision when it's plugged in through MediaMonkey, then I'd use the program. At the moment, it recognises the Zen, I can browse the files, but if I try to play them, they 'grey out'.

Unfortunately, as I store most of my files on my player and not my computer, this means I'll have to carry on using Creative's MediaSource software.

It seems like such a basic feature to be missing - can anyone tell me if/when it will happen? Hopefully soon, as then MediaMonkey would be perfect for me.

i don't believe this is something mediamonkey can add support for?

i think i remember reading something about how, since the vision:m uses that playsforsure stuff, that you can't access music files straight from the player's harddrive. i've had both an ipod and a vision:m.. the ipod works perfectly in terms of playing songs straight from the ipod, while the only way to listen to songs on the vision:m seems to be transferring them from the player to your computer using the mediasource included with the player.

sorry if i'm stating the obvious, but that's the extent of my knowledge on the subject. :)

also: i've been with creative for about 3 years now, and i've never been able to play files on my player from my computer.. if you double-click a song on the player from the mediasource to listen to it, it plays it on your player while it's hooked up to the computer. i believe it's always been that way.
