Removing the Virtual CD queue functionality

Post by rusty »

Hi,

We're doing some UI cleanup for the next release and are planning on removing the Virtual CD queue functionality entirely, since this can be satisfied entirely through the use of a playlist.

If you strongly disagree with this decision, speak up now or forever hold your peace :)

i would like to have it in the future. because i don't really know how to do that functionality with a playlist :( .

or as an alternative for my part it would be nice to have the auto-organize
function extended with the ability to copy the choosen files (and not only to move them)

or is that already in there somewhere? :o

I'd like to clarify: we don't intend to remove Virtual CD functionality, it's Virtual CD queue that doesn't seem to be really useful.

Fine by me, I do use it but for no other reason than for the fact that is there. A playlist would achieve exactly the same thing.

Keep Virtual CD Queue and Add Another!

I have MediaMonkey Gold and a Nakamichi MJ-5.16 Dual 5 Disc SCSI CD-ROM Changer Tower (and a SCSI card). I want to set up 100% completely unattended batch rip of 10 CDs with MM. AFAICT the key MM feature that helps me is VCDQ. I can send all tracks on all five discs of one changer into the VCDQ, and it rips/converts them serially. I'd like to rip from the second changer in parallel, and what would help me do that is the option to have a second VCDQ.

Also, I can imagine someone with a tower of 10 single-disc drives, wanting to rip from all in parallel unattended. A dual-processor PC, converting to an easy format like WAV would have plenty of CPU power for the job.

Can I create a second VCDQ using vbscript?

Warning: anyone thinking about buying the same changer tower, it only reads audio CDs at 4x! But it was only $40.
