Go to the Genre node in the "Entire Library" collection in the Media Tree.
Do you see just a single entry for the Xmas genre?
Maybe you have a typo somewhere, like a leading or trailing blank? Or some small difference that is difficult to notice.

Yes some relatively minor bugs ... especially in the beta releases. Nothing too destructive.

The issue is that MM has a wide scope of excellent features, at a modest price.
I have not seen discussion of any other software with such a full feature set, even at a greater purchase price.

And they usually do a good job of fixing bugs, once you get past the (sometimes difficult) hurdle of proving that there is a problem.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

Hi Barry
Probably me being a silly newbie but I see no heading "entire Library" in the media tree. Under Music- Genres I have 45 genres but no Xmas! Possibly this is not recognised by MM5 as a genre? The info on each file came across from ITunes where I had a lot of tracks listed as Xmas. After editing all those that were originally listed as "holiday" or Christmas"
Sorry to be a pain!

I also do not have a specific collection named "entire library" showing in the tree so that may have been turned on by some people, in the collection options.

I find the words "Entire library" as one of the choices under "search" when defining an auto-play list. If I apply this search location, of couse everything including videos and podcasts are included, minus any exclusions I define.

So, it is easy to create a confusing array of searches and playlists with varying results, by searching within a particular collection or searching the entire library.

The key point is as long as you are reasonably happy with the results you get, then just go with it. If not, then keep trying different combinations til you get one that works.

None of this activity affect the actual tracks, you are just seeing different views of them.

A. Doesn't equal allows you to just set one line with all Genres to be excluded.

B. You mention playing, focus instead on the AutoPlaylist first. Does it list files with either Genre?

Hi Lowlander and other responders. I appreciate your time on this but my solution is to remove the classical and Xmas from the Drive. I will locate them on a different drive and use media player on the few occasions that I need Classical or Xmas tracks.

You do realize that if you have MM scan all your files, and you locate some of them in a different drive, path, or sub-folder, you can either filter a playlist to exclude by path, or you can create different collections each containing only a particular path?

With MM having so many ways to create specific lists of tracks, it is disappointing you cannot find one that works for you where you can easily switch from one sub-set to the other.
