Now Playing list says "demo"

Hi, I'm installing MM Gold on new computer, have copied new db etc. All seems to work well, except when I play muisc my "now playing" list says only "demo" rather than listing the songs in my playlist. I'm sure this is an easy fix but I don't know what the deal is. Any thoughts?

demo is in the MediaMonkey Now Playing List, which isn't being used because your using Winamp as the player.

But I have always used winamp as my player, and as far as I can recall the "now playing" list in MM matched the one sent to winamp....

Oh sorry, your right, it operates this way in mine too if I use Winamp (I rarely do)

I thought I'd previously noticed that it didn't.

I'm using version 2.5.3.968 How about you?

Can anyone else confirm this is the way it's always been or am going nuts?

Thanks for your help; hope someone else can clue me in, b/c I always use the now playing list to rate songs while I'm listening to them... it's a pain to find them manually.

I just noticed this today, and I'm seeing the same thing. The album art and track information display correctly for a few seconds (about 20), then switches to "demo" and the album art clears. If I right-click on the track name and choose Properties before then, I get the track properties for that track. After that, Track Properties shows everything as blank except that "demo" for Track Title.

I did a little digging around, and there is a "winamp.m3u" in my Winamp directory, and it has one entry: demo.mp3 (in the same directory). If I rename that m3u file, "demo" doesn't show up in Now Playing. Unfortunately, it doesn't really change the behaior other than that: the Now Playing list still clears after a few seconds, and no tracks remain in Now Playing. The playlist is correct within Winamp, but not in MM.

Is MM looking for playlist information from the m3u file, or is Winamp pushing that information back to MM?
