Issues where audio output stops upon starting the next track in a playlist

Post by stevenbharris »

Hi,

I've been a very happy user of Media Monkey, both desktop and mobile for a long time now (15 years).

For the last few months, I've been seeing the following:
  1. When playing a playlist, tracks play one after the other as expected and I can hear the output.
  2. Suddenly, upon the transition to the next track, the track appears to be playing but with no audio output.
  3. I can correct the issue by pressing the restart button for the track, then the track both plays and I can hear the output.
It seems to have gotten much worse over the last few days to the point where this happens once every 3 to 5 tracks. :(

I have the most recent version of the android mobile app.

I've restarted my phone multiple times with no improvements with regards to this issue. Looking for suggestions.

Thank you,
Steven Harris

Please set Audio transitions to None. Does that resolve the issue?

I have the same problem, and it has definitely gotten worse over the last week. I just set the transition to 'None' and it has seemingly fixed that problem, but now my gapless albums are no longer gapless which is obviously not ideal.

Hope the team can look into this for us. Thanks!

I am very happy to report that acting on response to my support ticket on this issue has resolved the issue.
In MMA go to ☰ -> Options -> Playback -> Audio Transitions and set it to NONE.
Grantley Buffalo, I'm sorry to hear that this interferes with gapless album playback. Win some :D , lose some :(.

Thank you Lowlander for your assistance but I didn't see your suggestion until now.

Thank you to the OP for posting this question, and to Lowlander for providing a solution! I was going to post this same question.

I've made the suggested change to my settings and I'll see how it goes from here.

I have the same issue with tracks playing, but no music is being put out. It started a few weeks ago (maybe beginning of january) and it is extremely annoying.
I just changed the setting from Gapless to None and I hope this resolves the problem.

I've had this problem too for the last couple of weeks.

Setting the transition to none does seem to work. However in all the years I've used MM I never touched the transition settings and it always worked just fine. So this is still a weird bug that needs fixing.
