[REQ] UPNP MediaServer in Android Auto

Post by bp011ysp »

I use MMA in my car via Android Auto and access my home music library over VPN via MediaMonkey's DLNA server.

Playback works perfectly when I select albums or artists on my phone – Android Auto shows the current playlist and plays the tracks.

However, I would really like to browse the Media Servers section directly in Android Auto, just like I can in MMA on the phone. This would allow me to access artists, albums, genres from my home server without having to interact with the phone.

Since playback is handled by MMA itself, all play counts and stats are stored correctly – which is why I prefer this setup.

Please consider adding full Media Server navigation to the Android Auto interface.

Hi,
We are considering new features and upgrades to AA, but unfortunately AA interface and Communication API is limited aand limits any third party app developers a lot.

There is already a to do for better playlist browser for AA.
