I seem to get both Artist and Album Artist indexed in my main ARTIST list display.
I only want Album Artist, but cannot find where to specify which tags to use
Please advise how to suppress "Artist"
Thanks

Re: Artist tags
I assume you mean the Artist node in the Media Tree for a Collection. In that case you need to use the Contributing artists node which you can enable in the Collection settings.

I just want Album Artist indexed. I seem to get that AND Artist indexed
How do I get what I want? Thanks

Sorry, you'll need to enable the Album Artist node instead.

Re: Artist tags
Hmmm.
Still get Artist. Don't want it. Should be far simpler to define what you want to see.

Re: Artist tags
In what sense, the Media Tree should only show Album Artist values when using the Album Artists node.

Re: Artist tags
I've got Album Artist.
Plus Artist as well, with endless entries.
I have a huge Grateful Dead archive
Artist - ALWAYS "The Grateful Dead"
Album Artist, such as
"The Grateful Dead - Live (1972)"
"The Grateful Dead - Boxed Sets"
"The Grateful Dead - Other Live Releases"
and so on.
That's all fine.
But I don't want Artist indexed.

Re: Artist tags
You can not use the Artist node or disable the Artist node, but you can't stop MediaMonkey for reading Artist from file tags.
Note that disabling Infer Properties will stop guessing empty tags (including Artist) when a file is first scanned in (no affect on files already in the MediaMonkey Library).

OK, so be it. Why it can't allow the user to select the index points beats me...
