Does the same still happen with MediaMonkey 2024 and MediaMonkey 4 on your setup?

Re: MM5 crashes MM4 and vice versa
If the problem is in MMW4 this won't be fixed, and it may be as it is crashing.
Can you please capture this in a debug log (step 4b) for MMW2024 and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643

Re: MM5 crashes MM4 and vice versa
Not sure this will help, but this also happens here, although a bit differently.
I have MM2024 running while I'm editing things in MM4. After a while (sometimes quite a while) the MM2024 crash window will pop up. I usually use the 'send report' button (might not be correct terminology?) to get rid of that pop-up and after doing so MM4 has closed itself, but MM4 sometimes will stay open.
I've sent in a couple of reports (generated from the pop-up screen) when the MM2024 crash pop-up appears, but not sure that is much help or what to do to follow up? After sending the crash report, MM2024 is closed when I get back to it.
It's not a big deal for me as I can usually work quite a while with both versions runnung without any problems. Usually all I am doing in MM4 is editing properties, correcting/combining the data.
Also, it seems like this happens much less often since I switched to the portable version of MMW2024. Saw the portable version recommended here a couple of times when running both MM4 & 2024 at the same time.
MMW2024.3167 debug portable and MMW4.1919 install version on Win 11 pro.

Re: MM5 crashes MM4 and vice versa
Is it possible that you haven't disabled Tools > Options > General > 'Allow just one instance of MediaMonkey' for both MM4 and MM 2024?

Re: MM5 crashes MM4 and vice versa
Thanks Rusty!
Per my post above, this is indeed quite possible and was the case here! It's now disabled in both versions. Will see how things work now after disabling them both.
I figured that setting was for multiple users accessing the same DB? Did not realize it would also apply across the versions with different DBs being used.
Re: MM5 crashes MM4 and vice versa
Just a follow up after this has been disabled for some time now.
I'm on MMW2024...3178 portable debug and MM4...1919 full install (non-debug) and they both are getting along quite well together, all is working just fine!
I try to stay up to date with the latest releases of MMW2024 and with the last few releases I don't recall having any crashes at all.
