Album art feature almost useless [#21816]
This feature seems to be getting worse and worse, there was a time with the previous version of Media Monkey where it always seemed reliable.
Then came this new Beta and the behaviour of the feature seemed similar however after a while it seemed to regularly loose the artwork from albums. So you would download artwork to all tracks in a CD then some time later one of those same tracks would play and there would be zero artwork. Thankfully that seems to happen less often now.
Then there was a period where the artwork chosen seemed to be artwork that would be quite far in any search results and so instead of getting some artwork that fully fills the artwork area you would get a picture of the actual CD, or a picture of a special edition digipack against a white background.
Now the majority of artwork that is fetched just seems to be totally random selections of pictures. I've had pictures of little LED electrical lights, and other such junk. Today I was listening to the INXS track "The Gift" from "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts" and the artwork I got back is a picture of a light fitting, so not even pictures of Moons, Gifts, Hearts, or Dirt.
The artwork now returned is just ridiculous.

Album Art
I'm using MM Pro version 2.1.0.1278. Android.
When I play "Love Will Find a Way" by Pablo Cruise and have the display set to Art, I sometimes get the picture of the band from the album cover. More often, I get pictures of random people named Pablo. I've seen Pablo Picasso, Pablo Escobar and Pablo Neruda. Anyone else have weird pics showing up?

2.1.1.1284 (currently available via the Beta channel) includes fixes to this. We expect it to start rolling out to Production by Monday.

p.s. we're planning additional improvements to this in the coming weeks.

Re: Album art feature almost useless [#21816]
I am on build 2.1.1.1285 and I'm still getting the problem.
"Can I Play with Madness" by Iron Maiden is coming back with a random picture of a wedding album.

I can see that its slightly better "Did ye get healed?" by Van Morrison from "Poetic Champions Compose" which had previously been bringing back a picture of a Ford Transit van is now returning the album cover
Re: Album art feature almost useless [#21816]
Hmmm interesting, for me MMA finds Album art from Album "Best of the beast", but Track "2 Minutes to Midnight" return Album art from album "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City OST Volume 1: V-Rock".
I wonder does those tracks have correct Album and album artist info in tags?
Best regards,

Yeah 2.1.1.1285 includes a number of improvements, but we still have a few more tweaks planned for an upcoming update.

Re: Album art feature almost useless [#21816]
It's going a bit mad today. Two albums by Van Morrison are returning The Yes Album, by Yes as the cover. A third Van Morrison album is returning a "Psychedelic Furs" album cover.
Saint Dominic's Preview and Beautiful Vision return the Yes cover, and Hard Nose The Highway is returning the Psychedelic Furs cover.
It did however successfully return the Astral Weeks cover when that played.

Same Psychedelic Furs cover on "Give Out but Don't Give Up" by Primal Scream

Hi Stonefree,
What build are you using? (Help > About)
There were some fixes to this in 2.1.1.1285, and more in 2.1.1.1288 (currently in Beta)

Re: Album art feature almost useless [#21816]
Hi,
I'm on version version 1290. It's better than before as its no longer pulling in random pictures.
However it keeps pulling in those really annoying "unboxing" type covers. So for "The Evil That Men Do" by Iron Maiden from "Seventh Son of A Seventh Son" you get a square grey background with what looks like a cardboard sleeve with the album art on it, with a black disk poking out of the cardboard sleeve.
Even worse it looks like an AI Rendering of a cardboard album sleeve of the Seventh son album.
I also really wish the album art lookup would make sure to pull in release year appropriate covers. For example on tracks from Fleetwood Mac, covers from the Peter Green Era that should be pulled in due to the Year tag, instead shows the Rumours era version of the band.
"Fleetwood Mac" album by Fleetwood Mac from 1968, is instead showing the cover for the 1975 album with the last iteration of the band.
