I can add MonkeyMote to MediaMonkey but I can't get it to work. When i bring up MonkeyMote on my Iphone it tries to connect to MediaMonkey but it just spins.
In most cases, connection issues are caused by the Windows firewall. Please also have a look at the troubleshooting section.

What's missing to make it work?
If the automatic discovery isn't working, you can set up a manual connection instead.
Please also try updating to plugin version 1.8.8, which does not require Apple's Bonjour service anymore if you're running at least a new-ish version of Windows 10.

Thank you for your reply.
I have now installed MonkeyMote 1.8.8. After restarting MM, I don't see a MonkeyMote icon in the systray.
Also, when I launch MonkeyMote on my iPhone, the app gets stuck in automatic mode. When entering the information manually, I can set the IP address of MediaMonkey Server, which is displayed under Options -> Media Sharing (in my case 192.168.178.47: 49856). However, I don't understand what information is required for the connection name and password.

If there's no tray icon to be seen then the plugin has not been installed properly.
Please check under "Tools / Addons" and install the .mmip package from there if needed.
The default port for the app is 19371.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I have now set up a test environment for regular MM2024.1 including MonkeyMote 1.8.8 addon, which works perfectly with Monkey Mote iPhone app.
It appears that MonkeyMote does not work properly in debug mode. In the "Portable/Plugins/Extension” folder, I see “gen_monkeymote.dll” and a folder “Extension/MonkeyMote” containing the icon and JSON info file.
Is it possible to create a working monkemote.mmip in debug mode as well?

Addendum

After installing the regular version MM2024.2.1.3201, I noticed that MonkeyMote also works for the debug version.

Therefore, I performed further tests on a second notebook.

In a first step, the portable debug version MM2024.2.1.3201 was installed. In addition, the MonkeyMote add-on (1.8.8) was added. Result: no MonkeyMote icon in the taskbar.

In a second step, the non-portable regular version MM2024.2.1.3201 was installed in addition to the portable debug version. The MonkeyMote add-on was also added to this regular version. Result: MonkeyMote icon present in the taskbar. The iPhone app MonkeyMote runs as expected.

Finally, I uninstalled the non-portable regular version and installed the non-portable debug version including the MonkeyMote add-on instead. The result was that no MonkeyMote icon was displayed.

This means that in order to use MonkeyMote, you need to install a non-portable regular version of MM.

My problem with MonkeyMote in the past was that I was running MM in portable mode.

You are correct, the plugin does not work if MediaMonkey is installed in portable mode.
It should have detected this and displayed a message, but that apparently didn't work in all cases.
