I've encountered a very odd problem.
I've recently purchased a ReadyNAS 2TB disk array, with RAID 5 protection enabled. I'm storing my 130Gb FLAC encoded music database on it, so that I can stream it to my Xbox without needing the PC turned on.
However, I've encountered an odd problem with drive mapping that seems to cause MM to be unable to read the ID3 tags from the files.
If the music is all local (i.e. C:\Music), then there is no problem... all the tags and album art is read correctly, and I have no unknown albums or artists (I've been very dilligent about maintaining the tags on all my newly ripped collection).
However, if I copy the music to \\ReadyNAS\Media\Music, and rescan the database - I end up with maybe 20% of my music collection marked as unknown (no artist or album info, and no album art - despite the files being there).
If I map a drive letter to the share (net use m: \\ReadyNAS\Media\Music) - the same thing happens.
If I copy the music using XCopy (using the verify flag, and copy all hidden files etc) - the same thing happens.
If I copy it back to the local drive and rescan the database, it's all fine.
There would appear to be issues with MM reading the files from either a UNC network name, or a mapped drive letter.
I have no idea why this would be so, but that's what I've discovered.
Any ideas?
Dave

I guess that it's best to try to create a debug log as described in this forum.
PS. It's best to use UNC paths with MediaMonkey as mapped drives have other issues.
