I sure hope the Alpha on Version 3.0 will run on Windows Vista.

I've 'upgraded" (?) from XP to Vista Business, and MM 2.5.5 won't make nice!

One more reason not to "upgrade" to Vista . . .

Yeah. MM3 works fine in Vista, but you need to grant admin rights to MM.

@sunspot: I also have Vista and 2.5.5 works fine here... What's your problem?

Whenever I start MM under Windows Vista Business, it will play exactly one song, and then at the end of the song the infamous Vista window comes up saying:

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the grogram and notify you if a solution is
available.

Compatibility mode setting in the Properties window have no effect on the crashes, and files permissions seem to be OK.

Do you run it with admin-rights? Or do you have UAC disabled?

The Monkey refuses to work on my installation of Vista Business, too. It does not even start properly. And I have installed it under the account with the name "Administrator".

It's a shame. MM is the only program that's holding me back from using Vista on my computer and I do not even know the release date of a beta that might work under my new OS.

It is really disappointing!

Hi Big_Berny,

Yes, I've tried it both with and without admin rights (i.e., Properties/Compatibility/Run this program as an administrator).

How were you suggesting to disable UAC? I've already got the directory with the music (on another disc) set to everone=full access.

As I heared disabling UAC doesn't help either on some systems. So I'd just wait for 3.0

I'm having problems as well. I'm actually getting a blue screen whenever MM tries to play a song....how is that even possible? Can't wait for MM 3.

You could try a different output- or decoder-plugin. I use in_!mpg123 as MP3-decoder.
