Album art in Windows Explorer
I'm sure this is more of a Windows issue than MediaMonkey but I'm hoping somebody here has a tip. The problem is that when I go to my music folder via Windows Explorer (XP) and set all folders for thumbnail view, a few of my folders do not display the album art on the folder icon; they simply show the plain folder icon. I've tried retagging the album with MediaMonkey and even tried completely deleting the album from MM and the computer, re-ripping and tagging it with MM. None of this has changed the end result of a plain folder icon in Windows Explorer view. I've read about a bug in IE7 that causes a blank black square in place of the album art, but this does not appear to be my problem as there is no picture, blank or otherwise, imposed on the folder.

What if you delete the "thumbs.db" file in the folder? That keeps all the thumbnails for that folder so Windows doens't have to re-draw them. What if you move or copy the files to another location and then view them there (windows would have to redraw the thumbnails)?
Try this with a few test files first. Use copies so as to not damage your originals.

Ahhh, it does appear to be the absence of the folder.jpg file. I was under the false idea that windows would automatically find the album art imbedded in the mp3 file and use that for the thumbnail. Now I see that this process only takes place automatically if I use WMP to rip CD's, not MM. Bummer. Thanks for the help!
