MM3 - Gapless on ipod?

Post by FadeToBolivia »

2655 Added synch support for iPod Gapless mode
Im not sure what this means. How would I go about using MM3 to sync an album to be played gaplessly on my ipod?

Edit: Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I put it here because it had to do with the beta version of MM.

Also, will the ability to sync the contents of a playlist without adding the playlist to the list on the ipod come back as it was in MM2?

This should work for any mp3 track, or at least tracks that are reasonable well ripped and encoded to mp3. Specifically, if you rip and encode a track from CD to mp3 using MM, it should then play gaplessly on iPod.

How about:

(1) Tracks that are converted from lossless to MP3 on the fly and transferred to ipod, or

(2) Tracks downloaded from sites (such as emusic)

Will these also play gapless on ipod?

(1) Yes.

(2) It should probably most often work fine, but can't be guaranteed.

Right, iPod's hardware/firmware must support this feature.
