Greetings All,
I just bought a Creative Zen Vision M (60gb) and am approaching the task of ripping my 200+ CD collection.
I want to create a FLAC archive on my 300gb external hard drive and convert the FLACs to MP3s on synchronization with my ZVM, using "Auto-Conversion".
Before upgrading to MM Gold, I want to know what transcoding options the "Auto-Conversion" tab offers.
Will I be offered the same range of LAME encoding options as are available when ripping from CD to MP3 (i.e. Presets, Manual Settings and Advanced Settings)?
Assuming all of the above is okay and I get everything ripped, transferred, etc., on future synchronization will MM recognize the MP3 files on my ZVM as related to the FLAC files and not create duplicate entries in the MM library? From what I have read I think the answer is yes, but I just wanted to double check.
Please feel free to offer simple or detailed answers to these questions - ANY enlightenment is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Yes, the conversion options are practically identical. You can create rules to have MM convert any file of such and such type and above such and such bitrate to be converted to another type and bitrate. Anyways, as I mentioned, the options are practically identical to the CD ripping options (CBR, VBR, etc). Quite nifty.
As to the second question, I dont know because I dont use the auto-conversion myself - although I should probably start.
