Problems burning CDs

I just downloaded MediaMonkey. I tried to burn a CD today and nothing happened. I completed the wizard and clicked burn. After clicking burn, a pop-up tells me that Media Gold works better. What am I doing wrong?

Well, I highlight my tracks. Click "burn CD". I select "burn audio cd", then i click next. "Confirm audio cd tracks", click next. "Edit cd text", click next. The last page is the "burn settings". I don't change anything, and click "burn". The a message box appears that says"Burn speed is limited to 4x for cd and 2x for dvd. For faster burns, please upgrade to media monkey gold. To upgrade or learn more about media monkey gold, click the upgrade button." I do not wish to upgrade so i click the only other button which is "ok". Then nothing happens. My cd is not being burned.

Look carefully at the status bar. The burn process is not immediate, MM needs first to prepare the tracks to be burned. It can take a few minutes depending on your computer speed. You'll see the progress bar on the status bar. Is that it?

I gave it 10 minutes. There wasn't a status bar. I think the Monkey just doesn't like me!

What Speed is selected prior to Click on OK?
try to set it to 4x for CD or 2x for DVD?

The message is vague, _YOU_ must set the speed to 4x to burn, MM does not do it automatically.
