MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
Well now I am committed... I ordered my macbook pro and parallels (and a non proprietary XP SP2 OEM disk). My plan is to use parallels to run MM since I just CANNOT force myself to return to iTUNES and there is no other comparison, Songbird won't cut it. It is a different type of program, geared to online music files.
Haven't seen any further postings on this forum as to how parallels will manage evrything. I suspect I will have to use it somehow to connect my iPod to my MAC to sync all my MM files. OR build MM playlists and try to import via MAC OS/iTunes and hope it brings everything over correctly (titles/artists/cover/genre) from the external HD.
I really depend on MM features to accurately handle my data input and build playlists that are highly selective for everyone in our family, not just music but converted TiVo programs, podcasts and audiobooks. Then the next problem is getting it all synced to my iPod, only MM does everything (tagging, playlists and syncing) superbly! I bypassed Vista and agonized over my decision to leave Windows but I am just plain tired of the low quality/poor customer service issues with window based PCs. It's time ti see what MAC has to offer...montana.granny@yahoo.com (and yes I will help pay MM developers!)

Make that 11. Come on bois, be kind, so jack of the shite software we are force fed. PLEEEEEZE HELP!
Besides apple is going to take over the world shortly... heard it from a good, sometimes reliable source.

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
I am still waiting for my MAC to arrive. Vanns lost my order so about 9 days later I cancelled and reordered from MAC MALL, due in tomorrow but I leave to go out of town until Aug 28. Bummer! I did some more researching and seems that iTunes is a more full featured program on the MAC then on Windows.
So guess I will give it a try as far as managing the iPod. Automations and overnight autosyncing of podcasts may be worth it. But my main home "always on" pc/server is my old Dell Optiplex (2000) so i will continue to manage my multimedia with MM on that to organize, build playlists, and tag the files. iTunes on the MAC will also have access to the MM library but not sure about how the playlists from the two will avoid conflict.
Would enjoy hearing from any of you that have found something that works (until MM for MAC is born...)

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
please bring MM to mac! I think a lot of people are getting fed up with itunes =)
Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
Up and running with iTunes but for some reason I cannot access my media on the external drive, it wants to IMPORT it and I don't want them on the iMac HD. So will continue to use me old PC with MM to organize my media and try to figure out how to access on my iMac.

Please please please,
iTunes 8 is the worst-implemented software since Microsoft BOB.
Please make MM available as native on the Mac. I will gladly pay.

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
Im a lifetime gold member, and would LOVE to see MM on mac, at the moment its the only thing stopping me from moving to mac!
Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
I'm a gold member too.
+1 for a mac version. Even if it doesn't do scripts (which is understandable since MM uses vbscript and that's microsoft's territory).
Strip out features, but port it to the mac. Something that can spawn a tagging thread while leaving you free to work your music is a big win. The field is wide open. There will be a lot more mac people 10 years from now.

Re: MM for Mac - I just switched to Apple
same here... just been given a mac book pro and the only thing that annoys me about it is itunes!!! why on earth it insists on copying over 45gb of music to the harddrive insteadof just streaming over the network..
does anyone know of ANY itunes alternative for the mac that is network friendly?
