Custom Search Errors

Post by fattbizkit »

When I attempt to due a custom search I receive the following errors;

1st:
There was a problem querying the database:
22018:[Microsoft][ODBC Micrsoft Access Driver]Data type mismatch in cirteria expression.
2nd:
Error #-214741813 - Songs.SDBDatabase
22018:[Microsoft][ODBC Micrsoft Access Driver]Data type mismatch in cirteria expression. File:"C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\AdvancedDuplicateFindFix.vbs",Line:2016, Column:15
3rd:
Error happened during script execution:[Microsoft][ODBC Micrsoft Access Driver]Data type mismatch in cirteria expression.

Also when I right click to perform the search, MM slows to a crawl before the dialog window appears.

I'm using MM2.5, WinXP Pro, media is on a NAS.
I have compacted the DB several times, no change in behaviour. Please tell me what other info is needed to resolve this issue.

Many, many, thanks for all the hard work from everyone.

Hmm, this is strange...
How many tracks do you search for at the same time? (Try to not use any more than 20 otherwise it is very slow.)
What do you search for i.e. what boxes do you select aso.

I actually posted a little incorrectly or rather incompletely. The error occurs when I do a "Find More From Same > Custom Search." It doesn't seem to matter how many "anything" I search for, the error still occurs. An example would be; A track is displayed in the Now Playing Window and I right click it and choose "Find More From Same, Custom Search." From there it doesn't seem to matter how much or little criteria is choosen, I still get the errors.
If I go to the Explorer Tree> Advanced Find & Fix> Custom Duplicate Search, a search is performed without the mentioned errors.

Another thing is when I go to the node Files to Edit> right click Duplicate Titles> Custom Search, my machine hangs for about 40 secs to 1 min before bringing up the dialog but, it continues to play music.

Thanks

Ok, It can have something todo with you using a NAS, I think.

I need to see the SQL generated in that function. Can you alter the line 2015 in the script from:
'msgbox sql
to
msgbox sql
And then run "Find more from same -> Custom search" on a single track and post a screenshot of the messagebox that's displayed.

That's happen to me to. But you're not supposed to use "Find more from same" like that. Only use it on single tracks or nodes that contains lets say max 50 tracks. And always let MM add all tracks to the main window before you start "Find more from same".

Well, Notepad isn't so good for VBS editing I think. That or the script doesn't contain 'msgbox sql. Since I only have Notepad at the moment I cannot easily find line 2015. Can you recommend a lite, quick to install, perferably free editor? I have VB6 and Viso Studio but don't have them installed. I never learned to script like I wanted to, so much else to occupy my time with like, getting my music in order.

When I use other nodes of the script to find dupes, how do I make the nodes refresh to reflect the updates without restarting the Monkey?

I just checked with Notepad and it had no trouble finding msgbox sql ... make sure you don't have case sensitive chosen. The big problem is that Notepad doesn't assign line numbers and there are 3 or 4 instances of msgbox sql.

Notepad should be sufficient for the task. You can press CTRL-G to find line 2015. Current line number are visible in the status bar if you select it in the view menu.

I use Crimson Editor: http://www.crimsoneditor.com/
But you have more editors here (at the end of the page):

Btw,
You do use the latest version of the script (2.5), don't you?
And the latest version of MM2 (2.5.5.998)?
When I use other nodes of the script to find dupes, how do I make the nodes refresh to reflect the updates without restarting the Monkey?
Simply collapse and then expand the node again.

Okay, did as asked and now I get the following.

Clicking okay and presents the errors mentioned previously.

Aside from this issue I want to thank you. This script has helped me find a lot of garbage in my collection.

Ok, I haven't cater for the situation when having a network drive mapped like \\server\. I'll see what I can do but I don't think anything will happen until I convert this script for MM3.

Btw, do transfer playstat and/or copy tags works for you?

Thanks! Glad you found it useful anyway.

It was actually pretty easy to fix the bug so here's a new version. Let me know if it works.

Bugfix release
Ver 2.6 (2007-09-10)
- Fixed bugs in some areas when music is stored on a network server without driveletter (i.e. UNC path)

Enjoy!

I apologize for the delay.
At the moment I haven't really had much time to do much with the script but I can confirm that the initial error I reported seems to be fixed in the latest version.

Many thanks for your great work and quick response to this issue Bex. I admire your devotion and look forward to your work in the future .

This one just reared it's ugly head at me again. I had a MagicNode open regarding Album Bitrates when a song came on (in shuffle) that I like yet have never rated. Thus, I went to right click on the song to Rate It and Boom, got this.

The other time I posted this error, you thought it was a conflict with Tagging Inconsistencies in regards to both using that same line of code, yet I just checked an it has indeed been commented out in that file. (as you've updated that script since the original reporting of this.) No new scripts have been added really, other then Trix's CustomReport, which I did a "Find" in and didn't find that piece of code.

It doesn't seem like that big of a deal, been SOOO long since I had the problem so it's not like it's an everyday annoyance. Just thought I'd report it. :)

EDIT: Oops, looks like I got a little outdated, I'm still rocking 2.5. I remember you releasing 2.6 now, I simply thought at the time I wasn't going to worry about it since I don't use network drives and such. Don't know if the error is 2.5 exclusive or if it was somehow remedied in 2.6 since I don't know an exact process to reproduce. *shrugs*

Thanks for the report Mizery_Made. I'll have a look and see if I can fix it.
