WOW. this script is unbelievable....honestly, this kind of album browsing should be built into MM from the beginning. Simply stunning.

Haven't hit any problems yet, but I will keep an eye on this thread and try to contribute to the debug effort.

Many kudos are in order here...simply incredible work.

Ok, this script worked perfectly on my laptop, but at home I have had nothing but problems:

1. I got the loop issue (nice to hear that will get addressed)
2. Double-clicking on the album in the center does nothing
3. None of the following right-click options are working at all:
* Browse to Album
* Browse to Artist
* Insert Last
* Insert Next Album
* Insert Next
* Shuffle Insert
* Clear and Shuffle Insert
4. After re-caching, Pretty Pictures forgets my Show/Hide Menu settings

My laptop library is significantly smaller than my desktop library...could that be causing these issues?

Any help is appreciated...I'd sure love to be able to use this script on my home library, where it could really get a chance to shine!

nah, it's got nothing to do with library size, please provide me with some details of your computer as noted in my previous post shown below (especially details which differ between your laptop and desktop)
DaledeSilva wrote:Hi guys,
at the moment, the main hurdle that's affecting this script for some people manifests as these things:

- double clicking on an album (or any other gesture) does not queue or start any music.
- exiting the visual options says saving, but doesn't actually save. (ini files should appear in the scripts/auto/PrettyPictures/Cache/ directory.
- expanding and contracting the window doesn't work

If you are experiencing these issues, please post what operating system you are using, and if you are using any spyware protection programs or anything else that might affect your settings (like registry mechanic).

at the moment I'm stumped and the only thing I can think of is to format my computer.. but that will only fix it for me, which isn't an option.

The other problems you've mentioned are all caused by the same issue

Gotcha. I'm running Windows XP MCE Edition SP2 and the only security software I have running is AVG 7.5 Internet Security. I am running Windowblinds 6 to skin the OS. I can list background running apps if you need that.

The only registry modification software I use is Revo Uninstaller, which scans the system before and after an uninstallation to determine if there is any leftover crap that the uninstall routine misses.

Have you found any workaround for these issues (uninstall/reinstall, etc)?

okay..
so I created standard user account and tried to install PP - it simply said installation error and didn't put any files in the scripts directory.

next, I tried to install monkeyrok and found the same thing.

my conclusion:
The problem is with the way scripts work.. they have to go in the scripts directory, but a standard user doesn't have the privileges to do that.
Even if I was able to put the PrettyPictures directory straight into the AppData directory, the .vbs file still HAS to reside in the MM scripts directory.

That's not something I can fix, so I'm afraid you'll have to keep jumping through hoops to install - as with other scripts.

I didn't have any issues installing MonkeyRok or any other scripts/skins. And I only run in admin mode because my account *is* the admin.

The issue I'm talking about here isn't to do with yours.
It's for those who do run as standard users... admins will have no issue

So for those who do not have admin privileges I would expect that the process to get PP running would be:
- Get administrator to install PP
(it will start caching but the administrator can terminate this if they are not going to use it (do not close MM before terminating) - or they can close MM straight away after installing before the cache starts)

- Log in as the user you wish to use.
- Start MediaMonkey
(because each user has their own MM.ini file, PP will think you haven't run it before; it will copy its files to your local appData directory and it will begin caching. It will then work as per usual. You do not need to install it again)

This does not include the loop error that is currently a problem, that needs to be fixed at my end.

I've fixed the looping error and uploaded the new installation file.
If you've already gotten it working, you don't need to update, as that's the only change.

I know this is going to sound really weak but.... I kind of think all the features (or at least the double click to play) worked when I first installed this. I am likely to be wrong but I have done my best to use windows role back unistall and reinstall to back this silly idea up but to no joy. So I was wondering if anyone else with these problems thinks it ever worked from the start?

Sorry if am wasting peoples time but I would really like to help.
