I've been meaning to do this myself, and it's the reason that I moved all of the script functions into external files, but I've not really had the time to do it yet. It's on my list though! :)

The album node !

Post by arcspin »

@Trixmoto
Hey and thanx for the tip.

Of course... As soon as I made the album node visible the "View Album" option started to work flawless.

Sometime it is this simple *smile*

Thanx again,

Hi Trix, I'm another in appreciation of this fantastic script. Hats off to you!

Can someone point me in the right direction? I have three albums by "The Whitlams" that don't show up when grouping by album. They will display when grouping by artist, and if I change the artist/album artist to Barry they are shown correctly. Other artists prefixed with "The *" display correctly...

I've tried searching for other posts with similar problems but haven't turned up any help. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply! They are called Little Cloud, Torch the Moon and Eternal Nightcap. Nothing untoward I don't think (and I have quite a few albums with strange characters that show up ok). I've tried wading through your script but I got a headache. It's one well written file!

Is there anything else I can provide?

I have no idea why this is not working, it doesn't make any sense that it would only be these albums that are no appearing. Could you please enable the debug log and open the artist view (which does work) and the album view (which does not work) and then email me the debug log?

The logfiles you've sent me indicate that these albums appear in the Album node, but not in the Artist node - which is the opposite to what you say. This could be a problem if you only have an artist "The W*" but no artists of "W*" - but only if you are not using the latest version (4.7) which fixed this problem.

New version (4.8.) is now available from my website. Changes include...

- Context menu added for play/view actions on main screens.

These can be found by right-clicking on the album artwork.

Hi Trixmoto,

Thanks for your assistance working through the problems above... I've only finally upgraded to 4.8, but I'm now getting quite a few script errors: Expected ')' in browse.htm. I've tried checking the lines of the errors in case it's an apostrophe problem, but can see they're all correctly converted to "#@"... There's nothing obviously out of kilter in the HTML source.

What can I provide to help with this one?

Cheers!

Hey trix, I am getting an error also...

Clicking exit removes the window and it works as normal, but still bothersome.

I just started using MediaMonkey and different scripts. Anyone get the latest release of BrowseByArt working yet? I too am getting the error previously described and wasn't sure if someone found a work around.

For now I suggest reverting back to version 4.7 until I get a chance to fix this.

New version (4.9) is now available from my website. This fixes the above errors, which were to do with single quotes that were not handled correctly by the new javascript methods.

Installing new versions over old versions

Post by amallen »

Question re installing new versions: Can we install over the old version or is it best to uninstall an older version before installing the new one?
