Thanks for the update :)

'Album' in the upper box is a nice addition.

I checked the apostrophe encoding : still have a problem with Youssou 'N Dour. Similar artists box works fine but while playing a similar artist, the Youssou N'dour link is dead + clicking on the Last FM link triggers a script error. The spelling matches the one on lastFM. I am not sure where to look to narrow the problem down.

Thanks everyone for your support. :)

@powerpill-pacman - How is your artwork stored? It's strange that it would work in the main box and not in the album details. Do you have offline images and folder images ticked?

@rojer - I'll take a look at this particular artist and see what I can do.

About the images, i'd like to suggest that if no artwork is found maybe it could use the artwork supplied by last.fm.

regards,

I don't really know, what you mean - to be more precise, where can i find this option?

In the "More" options tab you can select whether to use offline or folder images if images can't be found in the tags. If you go to the Properties of the track and go to the album art tab, how are the images stored?

Ok, i found it - both are ticked.
I checked some of the files with the error and it's strange. I got the cover from amazon and downloaded it twice.
One time to have it stored in the tag and the second time to store it as folder.jpg in the corresponding folder. I can see the cover in the overview but not in the album details.
When i "delete" the artowrk from the tags, it is still shown, because it is still in the folder. The strange thing is, it is now shown in both views. When i embed the artwork to the tag now it is still shown in both views.
I hope you understand what i'm saying, if not feel free to ask.

" An error has occurred in the script on this page

Line: 65
Char: 2
Error: Object required: 'SDB.Player.CurrentSong'
Code: 0
URL: file//C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\MonkeyRok\skins\basic\skin.html

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page? [Yes/No] "

When exactly are you getting this? It could only occur when you have no songs in the player, but this exception is supposed to be caught.

Thanks for your fast response, using 2.5 gold , indeed there are no songs in the player ,in fact i never use the player at all ,i want to use your script to see if i can show the nfo content in the comment field( audiobooks) ; the message goes away indeed if i load the player and play a track.
It only happens in the " selected " mode.

Cheers ,Lin

Get automatic Album Art like aTunes?

Post by janbak »

First I would say that this is really a great script trixmoto.

Is it meant to be that you have to get album art from Google Art finder or Amazon to get the main picture in monkeyrok, to show the band you are playing?
I installed aTunes 1.6.2 and correct me if i'm wrong, but both MonkeyRok 2.3 and aTunes use last.fm to solve album art in addition to similar artist and stuff like that.
And in similar artists it get pictures automatic but not the album you are playing.

I also wonder if its possible to show both "similar artist" and "other albums"?
And finally, how do I remove "Favourite Tracks By ***" and "Most Played Tracks By ****"

@Guest - I'll investigate and see if I can fix this.

@janbak - At the moment the current album artwork comes from the track's tags. I will look at adding an option to get it from Last.Fm instead, or if there's no tags maybe. At the moment it's not possible to have multiple external panels because they query Last.Fm and there's a limit to how many requests you can make per second so this would involve queuing requests and it's just more complex than I've bothered with so far. You can remove the containers you don't want by editing the "skin.html" of the skin you are using and remove the relevant "div" sections.

Thx for quick answer.
I see the problem, but is it possible to have a button in front to switch to what you like, instead of going into options and adjust it there?

Anyway, I really like this script as it is, so keep up the good work and have a good night. (Its bedtime in Norway now  )

If you right click on the header of the external panel then you can change the option there.
