To answer your question I don't have an account. Why would I get one when I can post as a guest? The only reason I am posting is because I have had my eye on this a while, and it seems that there is no forward moving progress happening with this. I seriously hope that psyxonova is not such a soft c*** as to where he would be so beaten by my "mean" words that he would stop development to cry! If that is truly the case then psyxonova why don't you give up what you have and let us all work on it?

I'm not quite sure what is going on here (Has Guest or anyone else who is complaining never missed a schedule?) but I just wanted to say I use the existing script daily and will be more than happy to wait for the new version until you can find the time to finish it.

Thanks for the work on the existing version and thanks for taking the time to work on a new and improved version.

I for one would vote for the moderators to remove these Guest's posts as they serve no purpose, force members to wade through a bunch of crap to pick out useful tidbits about using a particular script and overall cast a poor light on the forum as a whole. To me they might as well be spam.

I would agree with that if the same thing was done for "you're great" and other useless posts. They make you wade through useless information to get to the meat. Maybe they should remove the posts that include false promises too. However, we are actually saying something of substance, at least of equal value to those other posts.

Have I ever missed a schedule? You bet I have. What do I do when I can't deliver? I don't keep saying you'll get it soon. As soon I see that it is not going to happen on time I communicate that to all interested parties, before the time comes when people expect me to deliver on what I said was coming down the pipe. I don't disappear and leave them hanging thinking that there will be a release soon, then when I get back from vacation tell them, just wait, it's happening soon, then a couple months later say the exact same thing. After awhile people just call it lying.

It's important to note, we do have specific things we are commenting on, it's not indiscriminate spam spread across the forum. We aren't Yes Men, and we aren't just blathering without valid points. I'm sorry if this offends your sensibilities, but just because you don't agree with what is said doesn't mean you get to vote to censor the truth.

Pssssss,

lots of things can happen overnight...

Guest, Anger and any of you who feel the same:
For months I was updating the first version of the script to make it working as it should. And I mean updating constantly, 2 or 3 releases per month. SDj came to a point where a) it was working OK b) it was to hard to add any other features without rewriting the whole thing.
It was then that i announced the new version of SDj. I came out with bells and whistles and advertised the all new, powerful, forthcoming SDj
I do apologize for not being able to keep my own words but I never thought that SDj was so important for some ppl.
After all current version works OK and SDj is nothing more that a spare time project and guess what... the last 10 months or so i DON'T HAVE spare time.
My PhD is much more important for me (and I believe for everybody) than SDj and it takes 100% of my time.
It is not about money here, my PhD doesn't pay either, its about creativity, research, communication and a bunch of other related feelings.
All these give you the right to call me unreliable but they don't give you the right to call me lier. Everytime i was writing something about releasing SDj I was feeling sure that i could make it. But then something was happening and was keeping me from doing it. I never stopped dealing with SDj development, but it is too slow... i agree with you on that.

I won't delete, neither i want any other moderator to delete, your comments. Making that would mean less communication and less freedom for MM community.

Finally about collaboration. I cant work together with you guys. Its obvious that we work with totally different styles and thus a collaboration would be a disaster. I can't give you my source code for new version either and not because there is not one (as guest said) but because it is my code and i will release it when I feel ready to.
You can always ask for permission and start coding, using as a base the code of current version.

I am hoping this post clears some things out...
Anyway, thanks for the support, all of you

I know if I was getting this torrent of abuse then I would not be publicly posting my new version at all, I would simply PM those who have shown support when there was a new version, and let those who have no account, nor any respect for my work, go without!

I'm with you 100% psyxonova. It is not your job to script, it is your hobby, which means that only spare time is available. You clearly (and rightfully) have a life to live, and other priorities that sometimes take precedence.

I am tempted to say something here about the change in our society and how easy it is to make comments from a “faceless” (And lets face it even for the ones of us that use our names these forums, blogs and the ilk we are still anonymous.) standpoint because there are no repercussions but this is not the time and certainly not the place for that. What I will do is point out the one thing about “Guest” that has impressed me … he\she does write quite well for a fourteen-year old.

psyxonova once again I will say thanks for the script. It is my MediaMonkey script of choice and deserves all the accolades it has received.

I am truly disappointed today because of something really sad I discovered.
As some of you may know, there was a nice review of ScrobblerDJ on Frequelize This blog which I commented thanking them for their nice words.
Unfortunately, as I just discovered, someone faked my name and posted another comment there dated November 14, 2006
Counterfeiter on Frequelize this wrote:psyxonova says:

Thanks for the kinds words, unfortunately, I am unable to deliver on my promises to code a second version and I refuse to give what little work I have done on said promised version to the community so they can finish it off. I prefer to pretend like I’m doing something on it and just bask in the praise for last year’s work. Ahhhhh.
While I was aware that I was under attack for reasons clearly expressed in this thread, I could never imagine that something like this would happen.
Having to answer to anonymous and offending posts is one thing, but getting my name faked and discovering offending posts outside this thread is a totally different thing. And once again, the one who did it preferred to stay anonymous by counterfeiting my name, which is simply unethical.
Unfortunately, i still fail to realize why I am under this unethical and in many ways farcical attack.
After all, all I did was offering a piece of my free time and creativity for the benefit of myself and the MM community. I never asked for anything in return nor i afflicted anyone's interests. Even the "promises" I made for the new version were in good heart and I am still keeping them since I continue to develop as much as I can afford.
I know there is nothing I can do to stop things like this from happening. But there is nothing any of them can do to make me change my mind about the things I said. If the coward who did this wanted to piss me off then he/she should be happy now because I am PISSED OFF. Besides that nothing has changed and i will deliver what I said the way I said it.

I truly hope this is the last time I had to deal with such an act.
On the other hand its those acts that made a lot of you to stand on my side which makes me really happy. So, perhaps I should be thanking those guys after all ... :D :D
One thing is for sure. I am thanking ALL of you who supported me
Cheers

I am truly shocked by this and feel it simply compounds my earlier suggestion!

I can assure anyone else who feels no work has been done that in fact you are incredibly wrong. I know for a fact that psyxonova has spent MANY hours on the new version and when it is ready for public release, you'll understand why you needed to be patient.

I'm speachless.
Some people are a joke.

I'm glad you brought this to our attention psyxonova..

I found myself, though, wishing I did not know that such a thing occurs. It's disgusting.

I remember that I have made Win Scheduler parser to MM free and when fight over my code started I simply encode my script and closed it for public.
I really do not want to see this code closed but if some unsatisfied user want to provoke sometning like that I 100% support reasons for doing it.

Note: The people that deserve will have it like it is in public.

@psyxonova
If you can work only two lines per day, it is OK with me. Your work your time your choice so please calm down or should I make you apointment with the girl I have heard on phone? (Ohhh, I forgot that you already have one 24/7)
