I have a Grado stylus.

I use the turnable through the Tape Monitor so I use the preamps amplification of the phono input.

Then into the Soundcard. Goldwave is mainly a wave editor, but I've read they have a recording function to. You might check into LP recorder, which is awfully simple program and is set up for 16 bit as well. Acoustica Spin it Again, is another simple program.

I have yet to rip a single album, as I am having problems with my new computer. First the power supply, then one of the hard drives, now the drivers. Sigh. Hopefully this week it can be up and running.

oh i see your do have a lot more simplified system then me

mine is just a simple 25 year old technics system with a turn table and cassette deck. i then take it to a portable boom box and run through a stereo patch cord. to the sound blaster sound card.

i use the built in wav studio of creative's because it is faster to record in to the computer. but its volume is lacking its full vol. is half volume of the file on every thing else. so i save it as a wav from there take it to the audiomatrix wav editor and use that to adjust echo chorus and volume.

then save again to wav then since that is on the win98 i use cdex to convert to ogg. because monkey wont level anaylize it if cdex did not convert it. not sure why? but win98 just don't like that feature in monkey.

thats how i do it long and hard way but it is analog to 16 bit digital.

if you ever need a new stylus and have a hard time finding it look on line at LpGear.com they should have one that is where i got my 20 year old one.

Well, I finally got the PC and my card up and running this morning. Now, if I can get the CPU to recognize my external hard drive back up, I can start loading MM files and ripping vinyl.
