PLAY NOW command issue in Random Play mode

Post by computerace »

ISSUE: In Random Play mode a randomly selected track plays rather than the track the user wants to play NOW after executing the Play Now command.

DETAILS: If you happened to be in Random Play mode and you selected a track in the Library which you wanted to listen to there and then (so you choose the option 'Play Now'), instead of that selected track playing immediately a randomly chosen track, which already happens to exists in your Playing Now Playlist plays. Very annoying when Play Now list is very large (You have to scroll and find that track, turn random play off, then click Play Now once again.)
My 'Play Now' option in PLAYER is set to 'Play Selected tracks only'. Could this issue of a randomly chosen track playing be fixed and changed so it is that the selected track which is actually being played immediately and after that track has finished being played all existing tracks are once again randomly selected. This in my opinion would make much more sense and shouldn't be too hard to implement.

Idea of programming procedure.
When in random mode and as soon as a user executes the 'Play Now' instruction
a) Turn random play off
b) Execute Play Now (Play the actual selected track)
c) Turn random play on

It would be great if your team could this further and if they agree that this suggestion could be put on your HIGH PRIORITY list. You might want individual users to be able to turn this feature, once added, on and off in Player options.

Many thanks for considering this improvement.
