I guess the title says it all.

Any help would be great.

Does the device have both an internal memory and a SD card?

Can you see the SD card in Windows Explorer?

You might want to search the forum as there are several post on this issue with other devices. You could see if there is anything helpful mentioned to help you with your device.

May not be the same but my RAZR with a Micro SD card has the option in the phone settings to "see" data on either the phone or card, unless I select card then MM cannot easily see the phone and can't see the memory card, does your devise have this setting also??

This player has both internal and external memory. Windows explorer shows both when the player is plugged into the PC. For whatever reason, MM doesn't show the external media as a viable sync option.

BB Rhapsody and WMP10 show both memory sets.

I can confirm that MM does not recognize a microSD card plugged into the Insignia NS-DV4G player, although it has no problems interacting with the NS-DV4G's internal drive. This is in MTP mode, by the way. MSC mode can be achieved by turning off the player, activating the hold button, and then connecting it to a PC, but album art only transfers in MTP mode, which is why MediaMonkey is such a necessity.

In response to paulmt, the NS-DV4G doesn't have a setting to "see" data on either the internal or external disk separately. It databases content from both sources at the same time.

To echo chrisb's comments, Windows Explorer and WMP11 are each able to recognise both the internal and external disks in MTP mode. Unfortunately, WMP also likes to hijack your album art and do all manner of resizing/hiding to it...so phooey on WMP, I say.

At this point, would we be best served by adding "external disk recognition/compatibility" to the MM wishlist?

I also wish to sync the external memory on the NS-DVxG.
Right now WMP11 can sync, but talk about bubble gum interface...

PS, this player is sold out at local Best Buy on same day arrival for a good reason. But thanks to Best Buys liberal return policy (and user errors) these jewels can be had for under $60 USD from a refurb vender at ebay (2ndturn/dealadeal.com)
I know this post smells (OK, ok.. taste) like spam, but I've just bought 5th DV4G cause I'd like to have ONE back-up dam-it!

These players can't be too bad if my tight-wad boss bought me dinner and BEERS! (he's now a PO soon to be ex-Sansa e280 owner)
Sad thing is, he still had the orriginal firmware on the Sansa...

Only hiding from the dam spambots!
That might work if it wasn't for your email in the forum email button under your posts.

As for your device, how is the second memory presented in other applications (like Windows Explorer)?

In My Computer, as Portable Media player it shows up as Insignia Video Player. Click on the Player, it shows (1 ea) External & Internal Storage, Generic hierarchical under Type.
MM will show only the internal drive, WMP11 shows as Internal & External.
When in Removable Disk mode, MM shows both drives as does WMP11, but Playlist transfers are not an option AFAIK.
