Problem hooking over home network

Post by cadmanmeg »

I have read how to do this and I believe I am doing it correctly, but for some reason, trying to connect another computer over a home network is not cooperating with me. These are 2 XP Pro machines running MM Gold. The machines can see the shared folders alloted to them through the router and when I go to either ad tracks, it does nothing and if I set it up for file monitor, close MM and then restart, it does not run through the ropes. Not sure why this is not cooperating. I have included some screen shots in hopes that some of you can provide me with the assistance I require?

Ok, you should map a network drive of the My Music location. And then scan the tracks in from that drive.

If i am reading this correctly, is the music stored on the computer "ZEUS" and you are trying to access the library from "SUNSHINE"?

I think you have to have virtual cd & previews set to a different folder, they can't be within a library folder. (they are handled differently internally)

And it's not adviced to map network drives as MediaMonkey has problems with mapped drives.

I assume that Teknojnky is correct and that VirtualCD has to be a seperate folder from your library (ie. \\Zeus\VirtualCD)
