I don't know if this is a bug or by design, but it doesn't seem to be consistent with the artist/album/genre nodes..
All 4 classification nodes (tempo/mood/occasion/quality) are unable to be renamed.
They can only be deleted if you right click a subnode and select remove.
I don't use these much, but I did expect them to be consistent with the other nodes.

Isn't this because they are a standard in the ID3v2 standard, just like the basic Genres?

Standard or not, I agree that they should be editable.
You can do it by selecting all tracks in one of the classifications, and change all of them at the same time using the Track Properties dialog. When the classification node is refreshed, the nodes will be changed.

Extensions: ExternalTools, ExtractFields, SongPreviewer, LinkedTracks, CleanImport, and some other scripts (Need Help with Addons > List of All Scripts).
There may or may not be 'standard' names for various classifications, but since its possible to create any number of custom tags (much like custom genre's), not being able to edit/rename them like genre's is an inconvenience.
New script:
Last.FM Node Now with DJ Mode!
Last.fm + MediaMonkey = Scrobbler DJ!
Tag with MusicBrainz ~ Get Album Art!
Tweak the Monkey! ~ My Scripts Page
