iTunes playlists - I'm confused.

Post by Otto »

I can see all my playlists in MediaMonkey, but the songs are not in the correct order. iTunes has my songs in a certain order, but I can't figure out how to get them display in that same order in Media Monkey. It seems to only sort by Artist, Track Title, etc. Am i missing something?

Maybe I am missing something in your question, but can't you just click and drag the songs in whatever order you want?

Click on a column header to sort in that order.

Hold down the Ctrl key and click multiple columns to sort on more than one column.

You can then right click any track in the playlist and make this the new default order for this playlist.

I guess I wasn't explaining it properly. Let's say you create a playlist in iTunes with songs in the following order:

Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl
Jimmy Buffett - Volcano
Warren Zevon - Warewolves of London

Now open up your ipod in MediaMonkey. You will see the playlist there, with the songs most likely in the correct order. If you click on the "Artist" field on top, it will sort everything in order by artist (obviously). Now there is no way to change back to the original order besides exiting out of the program and not saving changes. iTunes has a numbered column to the left side you can click on which will bring songs back the original order. I don't think Media Monkey has any such column right?

All I want to do is add a few songs to the bottom of my playlist, and keep everything else in order, but I'm having difficulty doing that.

Thanks.
