My own list of 3.0 bugs

Post by tooscaredtotry »

1. When scanning folders, and viewing a node which is being updated, I constantly have the view reset. If I'm scrolling, it'll update the view and refresh me to the beginning of the scroll window. Also, if I collapse a letter in the album view, it'll uncollapse it. Very annoying.

2. I put MM3.0 into the mini mode and tried to stretch the window a bit, and it shook itself off the screen. Now I can't manage to fix that particular view.

3. Also in minimode, from the "now playing" screen if you double click on a track it no longer skips to that track. SAme thing goes for right clicking on one and clicking "play now". Clicking the advance button works tho.

4. The album art cache.. or however it works is too slow to really be usable right now (for me (over the network)). When clicking on a node, it takes a second or so to load the image.. which sort of defeats the purpose since in that minute I can scan the titles with my eyes.

5. I think I may have read something about this, but the "now playing" node doesn't allow you to view in any mode other than list.. which is sad! What about when I am listening to a whole album!

6. No detachable windows still. :(

7. Bug reports are sent through a "mailto:" link? Why can't it just sent you the bug report without getting our email servers involved.

8. When in Album Art view, the columns list artist, album, rating, and year, but only the first three are displayed. You can still sort by year, but it doesn't show it! Weird.

Okay.. I've started to delve into some things that aren't actually bugs so I'll stop. I'm really impressed overall. I like a lot of the new icons (even though the color sort of bugs me). I like the new player a lot (since I use the default player all the time.. pretty much anything is an improvement). This is pretty stable for an alpha!

Also, just in my own testing, with 18K tracks, it's FAST!!!!! I thought the Access DB was pretty speedy after coming from iTunes, but this just blows it away. Am I still going to be able to share my db across the network?
