Auto Sync complete albums only?

Post by cubik »

Hi there,

I've got a Zen Micro and want to use AutoSync to fill it up with a random set of files from my library.

Problem is it auto fills with a completely random selection, I'd rather have it autofill with a random selection of full albums only.

So is there any way of getting MM2 to fill my player using complete albums? I've swapped over from Winamp but still have to use it for just this one feature.

Thanks for any help you can give

This is a problem as you can't define what is a full album in MediaMonkey with playlists. So I guess that this is not possible.

Something if not exactly could be made thrum Scripting. I even think that there is script that will show full albums.

It would be nice if it could be done - Just being able to autofill will full albums would be the best feature I could think of.

Maybe MM3?

If you have MM gold, make an autoplaylist that contains only full albums with the size of the list set to the capacity of your player. Use this playlist as the only playlist that gets synchronized with auto-sync.

An example of such a playlist is below:

Edit: the "Sort Order" selection is the key to making this work

Perfect - Looks like I'll be buying MM Gold but it's worth it!

No need to wait, this function is available with Version 2.5 (Gold)

Actually I'm pretty sure that Version 2.5 does not have 'Random Album' sort order. A bit of a moot point though now that MM3 is official.

Oh, I hadn't seen this topic before I posted here. I still think that adding an album limiter is a good request. I also figured out that if I made an autoplaylist specifically to stuff my Zen Stone, with a capacity limiter, I could use Album to achieve what I wanted. I just changed it to Random Album though and it's even better. Thanks for the tip! :)
