"Save image to album folder" default

Post by danhackley »

When adding album art to an album, the option of "save image to album folder" is ticket by default, so I have to untick it every time (as the image is already in the folder). How can I change the default to having this unticked ?

That option only allows you to choose whether to save image to folder or tag. I want neither, as all the images are already in the folders.

Album Art

Post by rusty »

Dan,

I don't think a change is required since:

a) when you scan folders that have a single album + art in a form such as folder.jgp, art is automatically added
b) in case the art has a different name, if you use the 'save to album folder' option, the art will be linked in the folder as folder.jpg

Or is the problem that you want it to be linked, but you also want the art to have a unique filename?

Thanks rusty,

The situation is that I have multiple artwork in each folder - folder.jpg, rear.jpg, cd.jpg, booklet.jpg, etc etc.

The problem is, when I add a new piece of artwork, the box for "save image to album folder" is ticked, with the name "folder.jpg" in it. If I click OK, this will obviously re-write the existing folder.jpg with a new one, which should actually be rear.jpg or whichever.

Do you see the problem ? I have to uncheck this box each time so it doesn't overwrite my folder.jpg. I want the default to be that the box is unchecked.
