Auto playlist with styles.

Post by _Vic333_ »

Hello, I'm new to the forums, but have been using this excellent program for a while. This may seem a long shot, but might as well ask.

I've been using All Music Guide to gather the information to tag my music with Media Monkey, and among the information, I've been gathering the style tags and using them with custom field headings in media monkey.

The format I've been using for multiple styles is style1; style2; style3, etc.
For example: Pop; Pop/Rock; Singer/ Songwriter; Folk-Rock; Merseybeat; Rock & Roll; British Invasion

Is there any possible way to create an autoplaylist that would separate the styles from the semi-colons and display them separately, so I'd be able to see a list of all the songs under that specific style?

Thanks muchly, I love this program and any help would be much appreciated. :)

if by Style your talking Genre, then worry not young padewan, MM3 has MutliGenre support in it. if it shows "Pop;Rock;Love Songs" in the genre field in MM3 then it will show the song in each of the three referenced genres split by the SemiColon. the Artist field works the same way...

I wonder if the album field does..... That would rock! sure you have 5-6 albums of the same song and same mix.. wouldn't it be slick if you could assign said song to multiple albums?

Wow, that sounds like a very useful feature. Unfortunately, I haven't upgraded to MM3 yet, and would prefer to wait for a final version, plus I have a few scripts I wouldn't want rendered useless. That feature sounds exactly like what I need, though... Ah well, I suppose I could wait. Thank you very much, though. :)
