Multimedia Keyboard Issue [2430]
On my Gateway multimedia keyboard, the back arrow for skipping back a track works fine, but the forward arrow will not skip any tracks at all. Instead, it seems to switch me from the Artist node to the Album node.
RC1 is the first release where I've encountered this issue

Re: RC1 Multimedia Keyboard Issue
Oh, and when it opens the album node, it jumps straight down and highlights whichever album I am currently playing.
On an HP multimedia keyboard none of the media control (back, pause, forward) keys are functional. (3.0.0.1098 running under WinXP SP2) The multimedia keys do function properly using MM v2.5.
P.S. I tried setting MediaMonkey as the default media player (as per the other recent thread on this topic) but this made no difference.

I'm having the same issue, here's the fix
**FIX**
Go into Tools > Options in the menu bar in MM
Under General, select "Hotkeys"
Click on the "Hotkey" tab to sort by hotkey name.
Find the hotkey name "Next" and click it.
Under action, click on the drop down and scroll to "Playback: Next Track"
Click Apply
This should solve it. For whatever reason, the Next button was mapped to 'find more from same album' during this release, probably because of some testing that was being done and will be restored to the default 'next track' in the next release i'm sure.

Hey guys, i'm having the same issue in this release. It seems that the mapping function for the next multimedia keys has changed in the RC1 release, and I'll work on a fix and report back.
Multimedia Keys / Hotkeys problem
Heistmonkey, smiller, turkey, and anyone else,
On my clean install of 3.0.0.1098, the hotkeys are mapped correctly.
-Did you do a clean install of 1098?
-Did you do an upgrade of 1098 on top of an existing version of MM?

I was having the same problem, and hadn't done a fresh install.
I have now done a fresh install, and a problem still remains.
My laptop's multimedia Next key doesn't work. All the other keys work fine.
So I went to set up a new Hotkey, and find the Next key is already assigned to another function (Find More From Same, I think.)
After changing it, it now works - but only when the MediaMonkey window has focus. All the other multimedia keys work whatever program has focus, but not the Next key.

Rusty - I had performed a completely clean install of .1097, .1098 was the only update applied.
I checked all hotkey mapping in MM and all appears correct... Next, Play/Pause, Previous, and Stop are all assigned to the correct multimedia keys, but the multimedia keyboard buttons still do not function with MM 3.

Can you please state exact Keyboard Model (Laptop Model), drivers name and version installed for keyboard along with keyboard Type (USB, PS2, bluetooth,...)?
Best regards,

Shall I add in my info too?
Dell Bluetooth keyboard connected via Logitech Setpoint software 4.0.
Type: M/N: Y-RAQ-DEL2 (written on the back of the keyboard).
The multimediakeys are only working with the MediaMonkey 2.5. These are not working with the newest beta version MediaMonkey 3.0.0.1098. (Just updated to the 1098 version.
Only sound on/off and volume control is working in the MM3, but the stop/play/pause/next/previous are not working in MM3.
At the moment I am using MM 2.5 for playing and MM 3.0 for copying to my iPod Classic 160gb.

In my case:Peke wrote:Can you please state exact Keyboard Model (Laptop Model), drivers name and version installed for keyboard along with keyboard Type (USB, PS2, bluetooth,...)?
The keyboard is the standard unit bundled with an HP Pavilion 7160n Media Center PC. The following drivers show up under 'Keyboard' in Device Manager:
Enhanced Microsoft PS/2 Keyboard, driver rev. 1.0.2.6
Microsoft eHome 109 Keyboard, driver rev. 5.1.2600.2709
Microsoft eHome MCIR Keyboard, driver rev. 5.1.2600.2709
Microsoft eHome Remote Control Keyboard Keys, driver rev. 5.1.2600.2709
The keyboard is connected directly to the keyboard connector on the motherboard.
My external keyboard is fine (thanks to the setpoint Players.ini fix).
The Laptop keyboard: the laptop model is Rock Extreme CT.
Under Device Manager I have two keyboards listed, both Manufactured by Logitech, so they are for my external keyboard.
I don't know how to determine the driver of the integral keyboard. It's connected directly to the motherboard.

Re: I'm having the same issue, here's the fix
I was having this problem too on my HP laptop and the above FIX seemed to work just fine. The forward media button now works like it did before.HeistMonkey wrote:**FIX**

Thanks for the tip
@dunster
For Logitech keyboard I foundDriver fix and after that Logitech driver legally recognize MediaMonkey as Media Application
@others
Do keys work when MM is Maximized? And you you have one play/pause key or have separate play and pause keys?
