Show all bug? [3992]

Post by ninerays »

The show all option in album art view can be a little annoying. Can we have the ability in options to turn this off or on?

It keeps reverting back to hiding tracks;
For example If I have a a whole list showing all tracks, then I sort by Title & change the properties of one of the tracks, as soon as the properties are updated it hides the extra tracks and reverts back to it's origional sort order (even though the Title column shows that it is sorted by Title).

To me this is a bug - can it be fixed? Or is it a feature?

Show all is a bit annoying

I wouldn't call this a feature, but the problem will be resolved by the option to 'always show all' as the default for Albums in a future version.

Do you agree that that would meet your needs?

This would definately provide me with a workaround as does using the Detail view. I think Showing All as the default would prevent other people from getting frustrated but may also hide this feature from them as well.

The ideal would be to fix the bug but then if that is too big a job I think your suggestion would minimize any negative impact.

Show all fix

I guess I'm just not sure how it should behave. We wouldn't want to save the show all status for every album would we?

Perhaps the answer is yes...

IMHO, that auto-hide feature is simply annoying....
I'd like to be able to turn it off completely, thus always showing all tracks of all albums in all nodes, just like in WMP11.
Saving this 'Show All' setting in a per node or per album basis would still be annoying for me...

Again, this is just my very own opinion 8)

That means the setting isn't available in Options dialog, yet.
You need to add it manually to MediaMonkey.ini

In MediaMonkey.ini file, locate the [System] section and add the following line:
ExpandAlbumsByDefault=1

You will need to check for that setting in MediaMonkey.ini

Thanks!

In my

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Application Data\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.ini

The ExpandAlbumsByDefault=0 was already there. Just needed to change to ExpandAlbumsByDefault=1

Works great!
