I had a look but I didn't see this one come up. I'm running Vista.
I browse to an artist and group select all of the titles in an album. Right click->Auto-Tag from Amazon, deselect everything except for the artwork, Auto-tag and save to leave only save to tag if possible.
When this is done all the titles have the artwork. Then, one by one, the artwork gets removed. There is no error message given.
Vanishing artwork --> Artwork doesn't refresh [3997]
Moderator: Gurus
Similar issue occurs with XP as well.
If I tag from amazon and select all the songs and the artwork to a folder, the file is transferred, but not seen in the album art view. Only if I reselect all tracks in the album, open their properties->Album art, the art is visible. To get it visible on the album art browse views, I have to "Apply to all tracks".
So it's a two step process, when it should be a one step process.
Also some arts that were tagged with beta 4 (the same settings) have to be redone in the way described above.
If I look at these files (tagged with beta4) and hover over the image in file properties, the image path and filename are correct, but no image is shown. Only if I retag from amazon, is the image shown in the Properties view (but not in browse view until it's "applied to all selected tracks")
All of the files are on a NAS if that is of any help. Debug logs I'll try to put here if I can find how to do it.

One of the issues that seems to be causing this is that some of the missing art that has been tagged with Beta4 have been relocated with MM, but the tags haven't been updated to contain the new location of the album art and tracks (in the filesystem).
I haven't (yet) checked if this occurs with RC-1.
The two-step album-art tagging via amazon is still in effect...

Attention!
Whereby all existing Arts in the tracks are deleted without confirmation.jahonen wrote:Similar issue occurs with XP as well.

Nice feature

MM 2024.2.0.3162-port-DE, Win 11 pro, I5-6500T, 16GB RAM,
Tried this again with RC-2. No improvement.
Seems like tagging Files via amazon does not set tags properly on album art at least if album art is to be placed in a folder. Running Windows XP.
My settings are to save the album art in the album folder as folder.jpg
Here's what happens:
Auto tag from amazon and select all files in the album + the cover image in the tag view. Select "auto-tag".
Everything else is tagged nicely, but the album art view doesn't show the album cover.
Edit _all_ tracks properties at the same time and select "album art" tab. Result: Art is visible and image type is "Cover (front)" just as is should be and the directory in the filesystem contains a file called "folder.jpg".
Now if I select "Apply to all tracks", the image is shown in album art view as well.
Build is 3.0.0.1105.
Obviously it's a bug, but a workaround does exist even though it's tedious and cumbersome.

Just a small update.
It seems that in RC-2 the behaviour is a bit better and the problems seems to be related to how it refreshes the art-view screen (where art+tracks is shown).
I noticed that the track specific art is OK, since it's shown in the little art window in the lower left of the main screen if I select a specific track. The problem is that the collected album view is not updated until something triggers a true refresh.
In RC-2, editing another album seems to refresh the previous album art update for a previously edited album.
Now if it only did it every time I changed the particular albums art...

Album Art View: doesn't refresh on Auto-tag
Thx. Easily reproducible, though you can workaround this by pressing <f5> to refresh the view.
