MM3 kills the internet connection?

Post by Michael Vogel »

Hi,

I nearly never use internet and mediamonkey together, so I don't know if this problem could also have been seen earlier (but MM3 RC1 and RC2 are doing the same and, on the other hand, Version 2 did work fine):

I have a Huawei E220 USB modem for my internet connection which works stable for normal, so I was wondering why I couldn't start it when Mediamonkey was running for finding an album cover from the internet.

So I tried a lot of things, including rebooting the notebook, installing the new RC2 and so on. But it's everytime the same effect, when mediamonkey is running, the control software do not find the modem. When the internet has been established before starting the mediamonkey, it goes done just when the mediamonkey window appears and the modem can't be found until mediamonkey will be closed.

I don't think about a virus, I'ven't seen this effect with any other program for now and the huawei box works for hours without any problem (as far I don't start M...)

No idea, if anyone is able to check if this happens also on other notebooks, but it seems to be a quite interesting problem...

Michael, thanks, it is already on our to-do list and we are working on this.
A workaround described here should solve your problem:

Hey, thanks for the quick answers!

I really love the MediaMonkey - even I don't like the new splash screen  (I would make it smaller and in portrait format )
