The processing of Japanese characters is wrong

(A)
The content of "Mediamonkey.m3u" preserved by the automatic operation when MediaMonkey is ended is wrong.
　･In the line described with utf8, some mistakes are found in the character-code.
　･Some lines are missed.
As a result, when MediaMonkey will be started next time, "Now Playing" is not correctly reproduced.

(B)
Some of the Japanese tag characters acquired in CDDB change into different characters.

(C)
In the titlebar of the dialogs, some of Japanese characters change with different characters.
For instance, track property, album art, auto-tag from filename, edit auto-playlist, etc.

(A) and (B) are generated by MM2 and MM3, and (C) is generated only by MM3.
The rule of the change in these characters seems to be similar.
Moreover, it seems to resemble the problem of displaying strings in tabs solved by RC2.
Perhaps, I think that the mechanism of these generation is all the same.

Could you please e-mail me more details? While fixing the previous Japanese issues, it really helped to see screenshots of correct/wrong strings, particularly in (C).

By the way, I have one question.

I have unchecked to use utf8 for m3u.
But, "Mediamonkey.m3u" include both shift-JIS and utf8.
And "ExportM3Us.vbs" always save m3u as shift-JIS , even if checked.

What meaning does the setting of m3u have?

I received the reply e-mail from you yesterday.
You said that (C) should be fixed in the next release , does the next release mean RC-6?
I confirmed it to be not fixed in RC-5.
However, the displayed characters are different in some dialogs from RC-4.

Pretty strange. I've tried to set "Japanese" as language for non-unicode programs and then open MM with localization file you sent us. Dialogs titles looks like you described in images you sent too.
Where exactly the problem is ? It shows incorrect titles for you ?

I confirmed that (C):dialog issue was fixed in RC-6 though it did not exist in "what 's new".
I hope to be fixed (A) and (B) at early time of next year.

A) Could you please e-mail me a sample m3u showing this problem (best of all with some explanation)?

B) Does it work well with other applications? Could you point me to the FreeDB entry having this problem (a debug log could help here, it shows which CD are you querying).

A) seems to contain three issues concerning .m3u.
Details are reported with e-mail.

1)　A setting of "use utf8 for m3u" works only partially.
In automatic save when MM3 exits, it seems to be able to use utf8 at any time.
On the other hand, it seems not to be able to use utf8 at any time by "Export all Playlists" script.

2)　When utf8 is used, the line of utf8 and the line of Shift-JIS are alternately written in .m3u file. Not only utf8.
So, many other applications(include even text editor) seem not to be able to read it correctly.

3)Errors are found a lot in the utf8 code of Japanese characters.
So, it cannot be correctly read even with MM3.

B)

I am usually using "DbPowerAMP CD Ripper".
This can accurately gets Japanese CD information from FreeCDDB.

I have already installed Non-debug version.
I try to re-install debug version, and wait for the log for a while, please.

You can initiate Manual log generating by holding RIGHT CTRL+LEFT SHIFT+TAB until Debug Log Wizard shows (it takes Aprox 2-3 Seconds to Activate).

In 3.0.2.1129 ,

(A)
Utf8 code of Japanese characters are correctly written in .m3u files.
"Now Playing" is correctly reproduced when MediaMonkey start next time.

But (A)-(1) and (2) are not fixed.
So, I can not use "Export all Playlists" script when Chinese and many other countries' songs are included in song list.
And I can not use text editor to edit m3u(utf8) files saved by MM3.

(B)
It is not fixed.

B) is fixed in the next release.

A) We have to think about this one, it's a little delicate issue because of compatibility problems (i.e. storage of true UTF-8 encoded playlists wouldn't work with many applications/portable players). Hopefully some generally working solution will be introduced soon.
