Hi all,
since I have updated to MM3 (3.0.1.1127) the device sync with my iPod does not work properly anymore, as it did with MM2:
Everytime I sync my iPod with the library MM copies ~615 files (out of about 11k) to the iPod - but I have not edited them. This does not happen with EVERY file I have modified since updating to MM3, but the number of files that are copied again and again is rising!
I have already tried to reset the iPod to factory defaults and re-synced the entire library, but the problem remains. Also disconnecting and reconnecting the iPod after syncronisation does not make any difference.
I have set the sync options to sync the entire library (not only new files) because currently I'm adding missing album arts and tags.
Cheers,
DP

Ugly problem
Yeah - this is happening to me too and it's pretty frustrating for sure.
I've played around with it for a while, and it looks like any time I modify a a track on my computer, it will be copied to my iPod every time I sync - not just the first time after the change.
Here's what I just did as a test - I synced the iPod and nothing was copied. I then editied a track on my computer and changed the composer to 'fred flintstone'. I then synced the iPod and the track was copied. I then synced again and the track was copied again and I kept doing it a few times with it being copied each time. I undocked the ipod and redocked it and synced a few more times and it kept being copied. I then deleted it from the iPod and synced and it was copied (as expected). Then I resynced and nothing was copied (as expected).
This simple experiment was done after dealing with 100s of tracks getting repeatedly re-copied when nothing was changed and I spent a lot of time cleaning that up.
In the end, it just looks like any change I make to a track on my computer will result in that track being repeatedly re-copied to my iPod every time I synch ad infinitum. Blech.
I am using 3.0.1.1127. I am using Windows XP and an 160GB iPod Classic.
I'm hoping this is just a bug introduced in the last build and it will be fixed. I fear it almost makes the Monkey unusable for me and I just bought the Gold lifetime version. I love the program, but I need seemless syncing since it take hours to do a full copy to my iPod.
Thanks!!!
