Can't type '@' when MediaMonkey is opened [#4305]

Post by Big_Berny »

Hi devs,
I have a really annoying problem here:
When MM is opened I can't type '@' (in Switzerland AltGr+2) in any other program or in windows. So when I want to type it for example in my webbrowser I always have to close MM first and then immediately it works again.

Would be nice if that can be fixed because I'd like to listen to my music while browsing. :)

PS: Could be that the problem also was in previous RCs.

Ok, I found the cause.

There are some shortcts (rating) in MM which cause that problem.
If a shortcuts for 'Strg+Alt+1' is enabled I can't type '@' which is 'AltGr+2' (AltGR = the right Alt).
A solution is that you set this shortcuts to not-global - then it works. But as I think that the sense of exactly these shortcuts is to rate a song which plays at that moment this solution isn't the best. So IMHO you should set other (global) shortcuts for the rating of playing songs.

I had the same problem with my norwegian layout. Check your ratings, you probably have a lot of mp3 rate 2 stars because of this :-)

@o.k.r: Yes, I had a lot of them. Very annoying because I was testing my autorating-script and always thought there was a bug. ;)

Just change the shortcut combo. You can choose a combo you are comfortable with and set it to global. You can do this via Tools>Options>Hotkeys>New Hotkey.
You can also delete the old Alt Gr + 2 hotkey.
I don't have no time for no MediaMonkey buisness...

Fraxav uses a Windows XP Home Edition SP2 on an Acer Aspire 5670 laptop with an Intel Core Duo T2300 (1.66 GHz) processor, ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 512 MB, 100 GB Hard Disc and 1 GB DDR2 Ram.
