3.0.2.1131 - Tracks without Song# get filled with Artist

Post by sascha224 »

In the current build, MM3 tries to fill my empty track# fields with the first word of the artist name (e. g. "The Bad Touch" from Bloodhound Gang has no Song#, MM3 sets "Bloudhound" as Song#). It doesn't write it to the tags, but it's in the library and the files appear in "Unsynchronized Tags". Anyone confirming this?

Do you do something special, like tag from name or does this happen when first importing or converting DB?

Please be a little more specific since i did not notice this before here.

No, I didn't do anything special, only importing some CDs and listening to my tracks. The affected files are mostly older (partially any years) and not imported or changed in the last weeks. MM3 options are mostly unchanged from default. Yesterday, I updated from Beta 1 to Beta 2 and today I noticed the issue. I think that it didn't occur in 3.0.1 Final and 3.0.2 Beta 1, but I'm not sure...
I've noticed another issue related to this: The track "Played-A-Live" from Safri Duo has now the album 'Played' and the Song# 'A' :o

This seems to be an issue with the infer metadata from filename option, but if you did not rescan your collection i have no idea what is going on.

Maybe a dev knows more...

I have the same problem. I'm pretty sure it didn't appear in the final version. What could be the reason?

Thanks, will be fixed soon.
Only numbers will be inferred as Track# if the filename is in the form:
<artist>-<title>.mp3

Thanks. I've just tested it: the bug doesn't appear in the final version.

Is this bug already fixed in the new final version?
