resizing of the headers ( windows explorer like )

Post by Dreadlau »

Ok so what I would like is that when I click on the right saparator of a header
in MM, the column width is resized to fit the longest element in it.

Like when you do it in a windows eplorer window in details view.

This should apply for all windows, pannels, ... in MM containing columns and headers.

What do you think?

Ps: sorry if this is not clear. (My english is poor)

I think I know what you mean. With most programs with columns, you can double click the Column header and on double click the column is enlarged to fit the largest value that falls under it. +1 for this wish from me.

This would also be initiated if you double click on the same right side.

Edit: The same as nohitter151 says.

agree also..

Some applications also have an option to auto-size colums so either a) all information within a column is visible, or b) fits all columns within the horizontal window (so no horizontal scrolling).

Personally, I would rather see auto-fit to window width... but I don't see any reason why could not have option for either... although they are sort of mutually exclusive (could not have auto-fit and auto-size active at same time).

@Nohitter151, you got what I meant.

@Teknojnky, The auto-size and auto-fits are good ideas too. if they are optional( can be activated in the option menu )

I say this because in the case of the auto-size for exemple when i use the path's column I don't want it to get too large if i'm not using it at the moment.
