When you have a custom script for auto-tag from web set up, and the custom search is selected in Options to use the custom script, then that script is deleted, Auto-tag from Web errors and won't launch. I've seen this on my system when trying to develop a custom script - but also note this thread where the issue also happened:

MM should be auto-default to first entry if the custom script is no longer available.
